Story Concept
Highgate Canvas aims to highlight the work of four individuals whose bodies are now resting in the Highgate Cemetery. The goal is to encourage the user’s exploration of a visually captivating space affected by the artist’s creations.
Edward Lear, a highgate resident famously known for his nonsense limericks is causing distress by hiding other artist’s precious objects and disturbing the peace in the cemetery. The Graveyard Keeper’s goal is to find those objects and return them to its rightful owner.
In the VR experience the user embodies the Graveyard Keeper in a hypernatural liminal space between Highgate Cemetery and the afterlife.
The experience aims to inspire users to explore the physical spaces and engage with the art firsthand, while following clues written by Edward Lear in the form of limericks.
